Yesterday was filled with lots of driving and a great lunch at Earl’s. Thanks to Melissa Alcorn for suggesting it, it was just what I was looking for. The owner of the business was there and we had a long chat with him about his travels to the Grand Canyon. Who knew lunch could be so multi-tasking, the locals sell jewelry and gifts right at your table.
I managed to finish another Jen Lancaster book during the drive. I feel like if we lived near each other, we would so be friends! You should totally check out her website www.jennsylvania.com, and read all of her books, they are hilarious!
Matt and I made our way to the Painted Desert/Petrified Forest, and somehow spent 3 hours there, stopping along the path to take in all the wonderfulness this place has to offer. We even committed to an annual National Park Pass! Yeah for National Parks and the cute Rangers that work in them! I thought about that yesterday, while we were at the park, how come Park Rangers are never thought of as Public Service Officials? Can you envision the annual calendar of Park Rangers now, in those cute little outfits and fantastic hats? I am totally sure all nature lovers, outdoorsey people, and National Park lovers would so be into this type of thing. I mean, they have them for police and firefighters, you can’t forget these great people.
As we made our way into Williams, it is such a quaint little town. We had dinner once again outside at this fabulous Mexican restaurant. Two prickly pear cactus margaritas later, and I was ready to head to bed in anticipation of today’s adventures.
So, here we are getting ready to head to the Grand Canyon for this anticipated hike I have been warning everyone about for months now. So, expect pictures of me sweating in these spandexy clothes before this whole thing is over.
I can’t even tell you how excited I am to eat granola bars and beef jerky for breakfast, while washing it down with water and gatorade. At least today I am having a pretty good hair day!
Off the see the biggest hole in America, followed by the Hoover Dam, and then off to Vegas!
