Just a quick little post, as we are about to head out towards Williams, Arizona, stopping to see the Petrified Forest and rest up for a big day at the Grand Canyon on Tuesday. Sante Fe is a great city, so artisty and eclectic. Three notes about yesterday’s adventures that Matt previously mentioned.
1. I started to get slightly irritated with Matt (imagine that) as he continually drove in the same streets downtown trying to find parking. Matt seems to think if he just keeps driving in circles, at some point, some soul is going to give up their prime piece of parking real estate for him and his oh so precious Miata. Think again Matt, that’s why we still ended up walking a ways after 20 minutes of this parking debacle.
2. I ate fish tacos! (This is the part about me being adventurous). I am posting a few pictures of this adventure.
3. Matt made the Cross de Martyrs hike sound so romantic. The truth is it really isn’t a hike, just an uphill walk through a few switchbacks to the top on pavement, not natural ground. The two of us huffed and puffed like the wolves in Little Red Riding Hood, attempting to get to the top to take some pictures at sunset. The view was amazing, and well, we didn’t collapse, but rather had an “Ah Ha” moment about resigning up for Weight Watchers and getting reaquainted with our membership to the YMCA.
Overall, Sante Fe has been a blast. Glad we made the decision to stay one extra day, or otherwise, I would have missed out on all this fantastic city has to offer.
Away we go to Williams, Arizona!
